Merlin is the most
exciting and prolific buck we have ever produced! He repeated his
"magic" for us over and over through his lovely daughters, producing
champion after champion. In 2007, we finished both of his two year-old daughters
that were being shown; GCH Goldthwaite Hoorah FS88 and SGCH Goldthwaite Exotic
Dancer FS90, both who follow in the footsteps of SGCH Goldthwaite Ambrosia FS91,
SGCH Goldthwaite Abacadabara FS89 (also a two year-old), and our many time
Best-In-Show winner, SGCH Goldthwaite Brianna X. Merlin's yearling daughter,
Goldthwaite Mistique, was 1st place Junior Kid at the 2006 ADGA National Show
and was honored with 1st place Yearling Milker at both the 2007 Colorado State
Fair and 2007 Wyoming State Fair. She is a full sister to our 2007 ADGA
Spotlight Sale doeling, Goldthwaite Magic Mystery Tour! Mystery, along with
three other Merlin doelings, have all had Best-In-Show wins. Other daughters,
Goldthwaite Tally Ho and Goldthwaite Enchanted, both place 2nd in their classes
at the 2007 ADGA National Show. Merlin was also honored with siring the 1st place
Junior Get-Of-Sire at the 2007 ADGA National Show.
Merlin's sire, SGCH ++B Dear Heart's "Omar," was also the sire of many
Goldthwaite bred grand champion and excellent appraising does such as: Maya
FS91, Godiva FS91, My Bonny Love FS90, Clematis FS91, Talapoosa FS91, and
Merlin's full sister, Jewellia FS91. All of the above does were excellent
milkers (2,900 to 3,100 lbs. range) and the last two being Top Ten does with
lifetimes of 12,000 to 15,000 lbs. of milk! SG Goldthwaite Godiva 6*M 3-08 91
(EEEE) was the littermate to Goldthwaite Gatsby, who was thrown into the
limelight this year by being the double grandsire of the 2007 ADGA National
Champion. Godiva is also the dam of Merlin's dam, SGCH Goldthwaite Lady Juliette
7*M 5-00 90 (VEEE), who had a lifetime of over 12,000 lbs. of milk.
Merlin has consistently thrown long, level, dairy and correct daughters and
sons, but he is best known for his excellent mammary systems and breed
character. We were greatly saddened by his loss early in 2007 and feel that he
is too great of a sire not to be offered to other breeders.
