Gladiator is by far one of the best bucks that we have ever bred. He is extremely correct, being long, level and dairy, as proven by his recent linear appraisal score of 2-02 90 (VEE).
He has improved in his daughters over their dams in length of body, dairiness, pliability of skin, udder attachment and texture. He has hands down been our best buck for improving front end assembly, feet and legs, as well as tightening up the toes on his offspring. Gladiators milking daughters have had beautiful, well attached mammaries, that are soft and pliable after milking an average of 5 lbs to 7 lbs a day. His 2008 daughters have shown very well, winning 1st place Junior Get-Of-Sire at two of the top fairs in the state of Idaho. One of his daughters, Meyer's MG Phancy Pizzaro, linear appraised 0-06 Ec (VEcEc); while others linear appraised; Meyer's MG Storm Cloud 1-03 V (VVV) and Meyer's MG Jolene 1-02 V (VVV).
His sire, SGCH ++*B Meyer's MRDB Brutus Beefcake 4-04 90 (EEE), was a son of the 1994 ADGA Reserve National Champion and ADGA National Best Udder, GCH Meyer's Cajun Cleopatra 1*M 8-03 91 (EEEE). His dam, SG Meyer's SFCT Medusa 4*M 5-03 91 (EEEE), was the 3rd place Three Year-Old with 3rd place Udder at the 2005 ADGA National Show and also a maternal great granddaughter of Cleopatra as well. Medusa also made the 2005 Top Ten List with a record of 305 3200 131 108, placing her #7 in Milk, #4 in Butterfat and #3 in Protein! She also placed in the Top Ten once again in 2006, ranking #9 for protein.
We are very excited about this herd sire and the improvements that he is making for us. ~ Greta Meyer
